Church of the Gesu Weddings

Congratulations and God’s blessings upon your engagement!

We are so pleased that you are considering the Church of the Gesu at St. Joseph’s Prep for your wedding. There are a few policies and procedures in place to ensure that your special day is a fitting start to your lives together.

Weddings can be celebrated between March 15 and November 15, with additional dates unavailable due to holidays and the school's schedule. While there is no “parishioner” requirement, the groom must be an alumnus of St. Joseph's Prep, and a believing and practicing Catholic. Additionally, St. Joseph’s Prep does not provide a celebrant, but will welcome your Catholic priest to celebrate with you.

1. To begin the process, please complete the interest form below. A wedding date is not reserved until the couple has completed the Gesu Wedding Agreement and has submitted their deposit check of $600.

2. We look forward to discussing this wonderful event with you. To begin the process, complete the interest form below. A representative from the Prep will be in touch shortly following the form submission.

3. Disclaimer: Restoration work is being completed in the Church of the Gesu through the fall of 2026. Please note scaffolding may be present in certain areas during this process. Future restoration projects inside the Church (including in the sanctuary directly behind or around the altar) and/or multi-year construction projects around the campus may begin as early as 2027.

Does the Prep provide a priest to celebrate the wedding?

No, couples are responsible to provide their own priest to celebrate the wedding as the Church of the Gesu is not an active parish
Does the Prep supply an organist and/or a cantor for the Mass?

The Prep can provide a list of organists and cantors to the couple. These musicians have done weddings in the Church of the Gesu previously.
Is the Church of the Gesu air-conditioned?

The Church of the Gesu is not air-conditioned.
Is the Prep available to host our wedding reception?

No, the Church of the Gesu and other necessary areas of the Prep are solely available for the rehearsal and ceremony on the day of the wedding.
What times are available for my wedding?

Weddings are scheduled for either 1 p.m. or 4 p.m.
Which days are NOT available?

Weddings are only to be celebrated from March 15 - November 15 with some dates unavailable due to the observation of national holidays and the school’s schedule. This includes but is not limited to Easter, Commencement Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, July Fourth, Labor Day Weekend, and Reunion Weekend.
